I've been blessed to be a part of and witness friends of children who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Everyone's brain is hard wired differently, & their's is just a little extra special. They may sometimes have trouble with ordinary, daily tasks and interpersonal interactions that we take for granted, but they are absolutely killing it!
Autism has gained a lot of attention over the years, & through history & research, we have learned so much & gained strides in understanding the complexity that is Autism. One of those organizations is OAR. OAR's research on diagnosis, early interventions, life transition stages, employment & just basic life skills has allowed families to utilize more and more resources that are key to giving these children the lives that they deserve. But Autism research requires continuous learning, the learning will never stop, & neither should we!

So here is where I am asking for some help, after a pretty gnarly ankle sprain back in late June (doing something really awesome), I was unable to compete in my marathon this December to support the Northern California Lupus Foundation & am still super bummed! 2023 I will attempt to run my first marathon in Big Sur & will be running to support Autism Research!

Giving to charity is a personal decision, & I completely respect & understand it! However, please consider a small donation to support hundreds & millions of families who have children on the spectrum to support research & resources for those who need it. No matter who they are, there should be equal opportunity for these kids to have aspirations & dreams & live life to the fullest! This is the most important thing a girl can ask for!

THANK YOU for visiting my page, help support our youth & let's kick ass!

Please help me support Organization for Autism Research by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance Organization for Autism Research's great cause!

WHY RUN FOR AUTISM?
1 in 44 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. By joining the RUN FOR AUTISM team, you’re supporting OAR’s mission to fund research and resources that help people with autism and their families today.

Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:

$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers.
$25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders.
$100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.
$150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation.
$1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.
$3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.
