1 in 54 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. I’m a parent of a child with autism. My journey with him helped me understand that I’m on the autism spectrum as well. It's been such a relief to finally understand what has made me different. Autism wasn't well understood when I was a kid, so I didn't get the support that could have made my childhood easier. I'm raising awareness and funding for children with autism, so they can get the support and resources they need.

The Organization for Autism Research ("OAR") is a great charity that helps children with autism and their families. OAR helps parents identify signs of autism and helps parents find appropriate health care for their child. OAR also provide teachers with resources in their classrooms and peer education for entire schools, so classrooms and schools can be more inclusive. Plus, OAR provides scholarships for those in need. OAR is also helping adults with autism by providing education, research, and job seeker resources to help place adults with autism into jobs.
