Hi everyone!

I'm so excited to be running the 2020 Chicago Marathon this year - and even more excited to be running for a great cause... OAR - Organization for Autism Research! OAR uses applied research to support self advocates, parents, autism professionals, and caregivers to address social, educational and treatment concerns for individuals with autism.

You can learn more about OAR here!
researchautism.org

As many of you know, I am a Speech-Language Pathologist at a therapeutic day school in Lisle for individuals with autism. I have been there for two years now and my life has been forever changed by the amazing kids I work with every day. They make me so happy! However, the harsh reality I also see every day is how this disorder affects each family.

So what better organization than OAR to help raise money for something I'm so passionate about every day! And since this will be my first marathon ever I will definitely need a boost. I'm doing this for all those kids who make me smile and laugh so much!

Please consider making a donation of any size and helping me to help the Organization for Autism Research. Thank you!

WHY RUN FOR AUTISM?
1 in 59 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. By joining the RUN FOR AUTISM team, you’re supporting OAR’s mission to fund research and resources that help people with autism and their families today.

Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:

$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers.
$25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders.
$100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.
$150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation.
$1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.
$3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.
$30,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.
