This fall I will be participating in the 2020 Chicago Marathon as part of the Run For Autism Team. you may not know this, but I am on the autism, so being part of the Run For Autism Team is very personal to me.
Most training plans suggest 20 weeks of training before the race. With all this training (and hot baths too!) in front of me I wanted to make sure that my running has an impact beyond giving me sore knees. As a result, I am honored to give back to other and fund raise for autism as part of my Chicago Marathon goal.
Current research shows that 1 in 68 people are impacted by autism, but their is still so much that we do not know. I am only one person but, when combined with the efforts of the rest of the team, we can make a difference so that everyone impacted by autism has an opportunity to reach their full potential. Organization for Autism Research funds autism research and provides support for families impacted by autism.
