This November, I'll be running the New York Marathon to raise money for OAR. Growing up with a neurodivergent family member, I know firsthand how challenging it can be for people on the spectrum to get the support they need. What I've always appreciated about OAR is that their funds go directly to helping both in and out of the classroom.

Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:

$10 provides a "Curriculum in a Box" professional development set to general education teachers.

$25 provides fifteen copies of "A Guide to Safety" to families and first responders

$100 provides the "Kit for Kids" peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.

$150 provides 100 copies of an autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation.

$1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.

$3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.

Running has been a part of my life for seventeen years. In that period of time, I've run over thirty marathons across nine states and eight countries. Racing the New York City Marathon has been a dream of mine for over a decade, and I couldn't be happier to do it this year as a team member of RUN FOR AUTISM.

Please help me support OAR's mission of supporting people on the spectrum by making a contribution to my fundraiser. Thank you!
