If you know me, you know (or know of) my twin brother, Ben. He is truly the most incredible person I know - empathetic and always thinking of and reaching out to others, kind to everyone (especially animals), effortlessly hilarious in a “say whatever comes to mind” way, and incredibly intelligent (his nickname is “the Encyclopedia”). He is also admirably resilient and determined earning his master's in sports journalism. He is my built-in best friend, biggest cheerleader, and has profoundly shaped who I am today and how I see the world.
1 in 31 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism - Ben is one of them. That is why it means a lot to me to be able to fundraise for the amazing OAR (Organization for Autism Research) to support autism research and resources that help people with autism and their families.
It is even more special to be able to run the NYC Marathon for OAR because running is such a huge part of Ben's life. After running cross country in high school, running has become an integral part of his day to day routine and something that we love to do together <3
If you are able, please consider making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Your support truly means the world.

Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:
$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers. $25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders. $100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school. $150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation. $1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism. $3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college. $50,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.
