Thank you for visiting my page. I am super excited to be raising money for a cause I truly believe in. This entry will help me secure a bib for the the Marine Corp Marathon 50th anniversary. This would complete a goal I had to run 3 different marathon that turns 50! I will also be raising money for Autism research which is something that has affected my family and friends. The people in y live who have autism are mostly kids and it something that puts a lot of stress on the parents through the years. This is another way of supporting my friends and family aside from just genuinely being there for them.
I told myself I will be running this race and the universe called me here to raise money and run this race with flying colors. Any amount helps the cause for autism research (see below for more info) and also secure my spot.
I will carry all the names of people who donated money with me and bring you with me to the finish line !
Please help me support Organization for Autism Research by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance Organization for Autism Research's great cause!
SHORT STORY : I at one point in my life wanted to become a Marine but went down the route of becoming an artist. This would mean a lot to me to be able to quite possible run with other Marine members. There are a few friends and family who are ex Marines. I want to also dedicate this run to them as well knowing that this was a choice in my life but art was the true calling for me!
I also want to run this for all my friends and family who have kids autism of may have it themselves. I know what they go through and I want you all to be heard
WHY RUN FOR AUTISM? 1 in 31 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. By joining the RUN FOR AUTISM team, you’re supporting OAR’s mission to fund research and resources that help people with autism and their families today.
Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:
$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers. $25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders. $100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school. $150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation. $1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism. $3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college. $50,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.
