Karkers’ 5K For Cole

GUESS WHAT?
Colton and I are participating in the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend’s 5K this coming January! We are VERY PROUD to be Running for Autism with @organizationforautismresearch, because this nonprofit is extra special to us. My dearest friend’s son Cole is autistic: he is brilliant, funny, compassionate, he and Colton have been friends since they were babies. Our boys may not communicate the same way, but they’ve understood each other from the beginning. Watching Cole learn and grow has been incredible, and his mom and step-dad are the most amazing parents 🫶🏼

WHY RUN FOR AUTISM?
1 in 36 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. By receiving pledges and running for this organization, we are supporting OAR’s mission to fund research and resources that help people with autism and their families today.

Colton and I EACH need to raise $500 for OAR prior to the races. That’s a cool grand combined. PLEASE- share with anyone and everyone! *We now have a TEAM donation link, no need to go to each of our individual URLs!*

**EACH DONOR GETS TO COMMENT WITH WHAT COSTUMES MOM AND I SHOULD WEAR FOR THE RACE** We will determine the winning suggestion closer to the race!

Please help me support Organization for Autism Research by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance Organization for Autism Research's great cause!

Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:

$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers.
$25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders.
$100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.
$150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation.
$1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.
$3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.
$50,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.
