This year, I'm doing something I never thought I'd do: lacing up my sneakers and taking on my very first 5K and 10K. For someone who has been on a weight loss journey, down nearly 100 pounds and still going, crossing a finish line feels like so much more than a race. It's proof that the work is worth it.
But this isn't just about me.
Autism has touched my life in deeply personal ways. Two of my nephews are on the spectrum, and watching them navigate the world with so much strength and individuality has shaped who I am. Before that, I spent time in the classroom, working alongside students with autism every day — learning from them, advocating for them, and seeing firsthand how much the right support can change a life. Every dollar raised goes toward research, resources, and programs that make a real difference for individuals and families living with autism. I'm running because I can and because they deserve every bit of effort I have to give.
If you've ever cheered me on, believed in me, or simply want to be part of something meaningful, this is your chance. No donation is too small.
Every step I take on race day, I'll be taking for them.
The person who makes the largest donation to will get to pick my costume!
