Going from fully ruptured plantar fascia in December to Escaping from Alcatraz in June!!!

https://www.escapealcatraztri.com/

I'm so excited to be doing the Escape from Alcatraz in support of Organization for Autism Research. Every dollar (or pound :) ) I raise will advance their cause, which you can learn more about below. Please follow this page for all my updates on my training as I travel the world!!

WHY TRI FOR AUTISM?

Obviously I was late registering for this (as I am for everything!) so I went for a charity place! And autism is a cause that's close to my heart, having gotten close to Owen whilst teaching him how to swim as part of Horizons Charity outreach and seeing the positive impact sport had on his development.

Some stats from the charity:

1 in 36 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. OAR’s mission is to fund research and resources that help people with autism and their families today.

$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers.
$25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders.
$100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.
$150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation.
$1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.
$3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.
$50,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.

Beautiful run in Lake Crescent yesterday. Soo tough on the old feet - had to resist the temptation to run straight into the lake lol. Stats below!

Reminiscing about my first run on no plantar fascia on 11th March :o

Did a short run in the Oakland hills on the weekend and I DIED. Trying a long run in Olympic National Park today - hopefully slightly flatter! Bring it on :)

Thanks everyone for your support!!!
