Please help me support the Organization for Autism Research (OAR) while I participate in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon on August 15, 2021.

What are earth are you doing?
I will be swimming, biking, and running (in that order) this August in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.

Good Lord, Why?
That is a good question. Maybe it’s an attempt to prove that I can accomplish something other than foldering e-mails (an event at which I would undoubtedly medal). Maybe it’s my longstanding desire to be uncomfortable, cold, and wet for extended periods of time. Honestly I don't know. You can be sure, however, that this is not just another misguided adventure. It is a misguided adventure that supports a good cause: The Organization for Autism Research (OAR). OAR focuses on applied research - that is, OAR seeks to apply the learnings from scientific studies in ways that offer practical answers to the everyday challenges of living with autism. This is a unique mission and I hope that you will support. Also, for those of you who pay taxes - OAR is an US 501.(c)(3).

Aren't you worried about sharks?
Not really. Sharks are obviously good swimmers but I can beat them in a run so in a triathlon it will likely come down to who is faster on a bike.

What are you most looking forward to in the race?
The brunch at the end.
