Jeremy Wimmer

Hi friends and family of Jeremy!!

Jeremy has been marathon training for the last few months… for fun. I don’t get it either but that’s fine. It makes him happy.

Instead of him running in the Westchester woods by himself, I’d love to sign him up for the NYC Marathon. I know he will be absolutely thrilled to get to do it. However, at this point, there are only charity tickets available. Which is great! Because not only can Jeremy run the NYC Marathon, but he can also fundraise for OAR (Organization for Autism Research).

Anyone who knows Jeremy’s family, or has seen his arm tattoo, knows how much choosing this organization would mean to him. I would love to tell him that we are fundraising and have him race for his sister, Sarah.

Please don’t mention this to Jeremy. Don’t worry, I won’t spring this on him too last minute. However, I’d like to make sure we can meet our goals (and bedazzle a racing shirt for him of course!).

I’m pulling in a few email lists here, and the last 1.5 years have been… weird… so if you can’t donate or choose not to, no worries at all! Thank you thank you thank you to anyone who can and chooses to donate!!

Much love, Erin

WHY RUN FOR AUTISM?
1 in 54 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. By joining the RUN FOR AUTISM team, you’re supporting OAR’s mission to fund research and resources that help people with autism and their families today.

Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:

$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers.
$25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders.
$100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.
$150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation.
$1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.
$3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.
$40,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.
