I turn 40 in 2020 and what better way to kick off a new decade than by running in honor of and for my son who was diagnosed with ASD in 2016. We suspected something was not right when Sam didn't have 5-6 words at 18 months. Immediately we contacted Infant and Toddler Connection of Fairfax County and got speech therapy for him.

Although he was making progress, he was going to age out of ITC at 3 years so we asked them to help us contact Fairfax County about if Sam was eligible for SPED Pre-School. He was, so he entered public school at 3 and was officially diagnosed at age 4 on 9/14/16.

Our world changed that day. All of the hopes and dreams we originally had suddenly changed. What I love about him: he is talented, bright, and has an amazing memory! While my original hopes and dreams for him have changed, ultimately the big one has not. My goal for him is to be the best person he can be. Stay tuned to this page as I update you on my progress over the next few months. Go big or go home!

$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers.
$25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders.
$100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.
$150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation.
$1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.
$3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.
$30,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.
