TEAM ANDREA is going International and joining the worlds largest charitable event the 2021 LONDON Marathon in support of OAR-Organization for Autism Research.
Over the next four 8 months Coach Andrea is challenging her Dad to run the LONDON Marathon and all of us to join her team and help raise funds to support OAR. You can help by joining our team and raising money or simply by making a donation.
OAR was founded in December 2001 by seven individuals whose lives and families had been directly impacted by autism. They shared a common vision and set out on a singular mission – to apply science to answer the daily questions and challenges that autism presents to individuals with autism, their families, teachers, and caregivers.
There are many organizations dedicated to autism. What distinguishes OAR from other organizations and why TEAM ANDREA decided to support OAR is their singular focus on applied research and the quality and practical value of its resource materials. The studies they fund provide have meaning in the day-to-day lives of persons with autism and their families.
They fund pilot studies on topics of more every day relevance such as education, parent, caregiver and teacher training, communication, self-care, social skills, employment, behavior and adult and community issues. In pursuing its efforts to change lives, their focus is quality of life.
Andrea’s family is proud to support OAR and Andrea wanted us to share with family and friends that she is now working 4 days at the Quinnipiac University cafeteria. Andrea, is very proud of what she has achieved. “I love my job and like seeing friends and co-workers and I feel proud of my accomplishments.” She also received an award for 2018/2019 for never missing a day of work.
Andrea asks that you join our team to help raise funds to expand and bring awareness of OAR and their mission. Our goal is to raise over $10,000.00 over the next several months. We have our work to do, and we need your help.
