Michael Cleary is a 20-year-old young man that was diagnosed with autism at 20 months. He is heading up a 5K run / walk autism awareness event on Sunday, April 7th from 2-4 PM at the Garnet Valley High School track. Coupled with the run / walk portion of the event will be information tables and discussions to raise awareness about autism. It is free to sign up with Team Michael, however, his team of runners and walkers will be raising money for the Organization for Autism Research (OAR). He is asking that you come out and join the effort by running or walking a 5K, or just to learn about autism. It’s a great opportunity to use running to help advance efforts to better understand autism and learn more about the daily challenges of those affected by autism.

$25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders.
$100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.
$150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation.
$1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.
$3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.
$50,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.
