Triathlon For Autism (Autism Research Fundraiser)

William Pinter

William Pinter

My nephew Calum was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I will be competing in my first triathlon (olympic distance) this June and I’ve decided to dedicate my race to my nephew by partnering with the Organization of Autism Research to raise money supporting their mission to fund research and resources that help people with autism and their families.

Please help me support by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance Organization for Autism Research's great cause!

Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:

$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers.
$25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders.
$100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.
$150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation.
$1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.
$3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.
$50,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.

Forgot to post my swim/run yesterday but here is today’s work. 💪

I had such a great swim this morning that I got motivated to get out there and practice a tri. 💪

10 miles run today. Consistency is key!

Kicked off Autism Acceptance Month with a fun challenge! Looking forward to tomorrow’s swim and some brick training on Saturday.

Solid work today! Got a great swim and a 25min 5K in afterwards. I’ve been training daily, but it’s hard to remember to come in here and post. Thank you all for the support!

First day training multisport, put in 20 miles and set a new personal record for a 10K run. Planning to get acclimated to the bike/run combo then mix in the swimming 8 weeks out.
