Hey!

My name is Timothy and I would like to introduce you to a very dear friend of mine, Jason Pappas (Jasonaki).

Jasonaki is one of the kindest, sweetest and most caring individuals I know and is extremely passionate about swimming, walking, reading and enjoying nature. He also really enjoys eating delicious food (particularly soup and cheetohs!).

He is also an incredibly brave person facing what can be a pretty challenging and confusing world.

To support Jasonaki, for him to continue developing and being the incredible individual I know him to be, my partner and I (Melina Pappa) would like to raise funds to donate to the Organisation for Autism Research (OAR) that in their own words "...set out to use applied science to answer questions that autistic individuals, their parents, families, teachers, and caregivers confront daily. No other autism organization has this singular focus..."

To further encourage donations we will also be undertaking a physical challenge by racing in an event on 22nd July 2023 called the Zagori Mountain Trailrunning series, in the particularly grueling 44km, +2600m ascent/descent, category.

Any donations will go to the OAR foundation to continue the amazing work they are doing, deeply appreciate your contributions!!!

WHY RUN FOR AUTISM?
1 in 44 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. By joining the RUN FOR AUTISM team, you’re supporting OAR’s mission to fund research and resources that help people with autism and their families today.


Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:

$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers.
$25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders.
$100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.
$150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation.
$1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.
$3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.
$40,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.
