Can’t belive I am finally typing this… my LAST LONG run before the marathon is complete! Training for this marathon has taught me so much about myself. I’ve never felt better training for 26.2. With age comes wisdom in how a training should feel. I am so stoked fo run in honor of Noah and Oliver in T minus 8 days!💙
I am still raising money for the Organization of Autism Research for the marathon! My goal was to raise $2,000 which I completed. I have now set a new goal of $3,000!
Well, I wasn't chosen in the lottery for the Chicago Marathon. However, my husband encouraged me to run for a charity. I prayed about this. I prayed for a charity that would tug at my heart. “The one” came to me!
In 2018 and 2019, I ran for American Cancer Society- a foundation that is, and will always be, close to my heart for many reasons.
A Chicago Marathon Facebook page kept popping up on my newsfeed with one charity in particular. I wanted to run for something that meant something to my family. This charity affects one of my best friends, and my family.
With that being said, I have decided to run for the Organization of Autism Research (OAR).
I chose this charity because they are the ones ACTIVELY researching autism. After doing more research on autism, I was mind blown to learn that 1 in 44 kids are diagnosed today with a dominant in boys. What!? How is there such little awareness on this?
My goal from now until October is not only raise $2,000 for OAR, and train- it’s to raise AWARENESS on all my social media platforms.
These kids are beautiful, incredibly smart, full of love and talented. I will be running in honor of Noah and Oliver. I can’t wait to share their stories with you all. 🧡
