In June 2022 I will be competing in the once in a lifetime event- the "Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon" in San Francisco! This course consists of a 1.5 mile swim through San Fran Bay, onto an 18 mile bike ride through the hills, followed by a run up 400 sand stairs, and then off to an 8 mile run to the finish line. The Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon is known as a "bucket list" triathlon for many, as there truly is no other triathlon like it in the world!
This year I am a member of the "Tri For Autism" team which supports the Organization for Autism Research (OAR). The OAR provides research, support, and aid to people with Autism, their families, and their loved ones.
After teaching those on the Autism Spectrum Disorder for the last 15+ years of my life, this mission is near to my heart. 1 in 54 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with Autism, and by supporting OAR you are providing funds to support those with Autism achieve their goals and live wonderful lives! Working with, and teaching children and adults with special needs has always been my greatest joy in life- and now I get this fabulous opportunity to support those with special needs by competing in an absolutely epic triathlon.
Please support me in my race by donating. My initial goal is to raise $2,500 prior to Dec 31st to qualify for registration.
