Ness Suarez

All year I’ve been too scared to commit to run the Chicago Marathon, but I have taken on the challenge not only of running but fundraising as well.

I am running in support of the Organization for Autism Research, a cause that is deeply meaningful and special to me. Ever since my younger brother Marty was diagnosed with autism at age 2, watching his journey has shown me both the beauty and challenges that comes along with it. It's given me deeper understanding of the importance of research, resources, and support system.

I am asking for your support in helping me make a difference. Your donation, big or small, goes a long way towards advancing research, improving access to care, and creating more opportunities for individuals on the spectrum.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me. 💙

WHY RUN FOR AUTISM?
1 in 31 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism.

Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:

$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers.

$25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders.

$100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.

$150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation.

$1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.

$3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.
