MY STORY:
I started running during COVID to stay active during lacrosse season and could barely run a mile. I kept going, running with my mom a few times a week until I could get to three miles without stopping and that's where my love for the sport really began. After being in sports my whole life where there was always pressure to perform, running felt different. It was something I could do for myself, at my own pace, no expectations.

A couple years ago, I had two reconstructive surgeries on my right foot and spent months on crutches and in a cast. Not being able to run made me realize how much I’d come to love it. Once I recovered, I slowly got back into it, and that’s when I got into the Chicago Marathon with the Organization for Autism Research. Every mile I run, every dollar I raise, goes toward life-changing support for individuals with autism and their families - from education and safety kits, to scholarships and research.

Please help me support by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Any donation counts, and it will help me keep pursuing the sport I've grown to love.

WHY RUN FOR AUTISM?
1 in 31 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. OAR funds life-changing research and creates resources that help individuals with autism and their families today—not just someday in the future. This cause is deeply personal and meaningful, and I’m honored to be running as part of their team.

Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:

$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers.
$25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders.
$100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.
$150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation.
$1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.
$3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.
$50,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.

Please consider sharing this page with your friends and family to make a difference. Thank you for supporting me and such an amazing community!
