I am so excited and honored to be running the 2025 Chicago Marathon with the Organization for Autism Research Team (OAR)! In 2024, I ran the Boston Marathon for the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge Team. It was such an incredible experience. I decided to set out and run all of the major marathons across the world. This past April, I ran the London Marathon for the Children With Cancer UK Team. Now, with two marathons under my belt, I am ready to tackle my third marathon for another great cause!
Over the years, I have done many road races consisting of varying distances. During one race in particular the director of the race asked the crowd "What is your WHY?" I really thought about that phrase a lot and it has stuck with me ever since. Most of the time I run because it is something I enjoy doing. But, on October 12th, I will be running not only for me to achieve the accomplishment of running my third marathon, but I will also be running to raise vital funds for OAR, a charity who's vision is to help fund research and resources to help people with autism in their families. Every donation, no matter how big or small helps towards our mission!
In 2025, hundreds of Organization for Autism Research runners will take to the streets to participate in the 2025 Chicago Marathon. The OAR team runs and raises funds with thousands of special people in mind.
Please help me support by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance Organization for Autism Research's great cause!
WHY RUN FOR AUTISM? 1 in 31 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. By joining the RUN FOR AUTISM team, you’re supporting OAR’s mission to fund research and resources that help people with autism and their families today.
Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:
$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers. $25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders. $100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school. $150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation. $1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism. $3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college. $50,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.
