I am thrilled to announce that I will be running in the 2025 Chicago Marathon on October 12th, as part of the RUN FOR AUTISM team! I’m fundraising for the Organization for Autism Research (OAR), an incredible nonprofit that supports individuals and families impacted by autism.
Founded and led by parents and grandparents of autistic individuals, OAR’s mission is guided by research that addresses the real-world challenges faced by those with autism. This includes tackling barriers in social interaction, education, and treatment that individuals and families encounter every day. Every donation to this cause will fund critical research and the distribution of beneficial resources.
As OAR proudly states, “[this community] is the source from which we draw strength, support, inspiration, and the capacity to act and do good.” Throughout my marathon training and fundraising efforts, I will continue to draw strength and inspiration from this wonderful community.

Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:
$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers. $25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders. $100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school. $150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation. $1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism. $3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college. $50,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.
Each donation is tax-deductible, and your support makes all the difference!
