I started this journey in 2014, running 5Ks every weekend until finally venturing off to longer distances. With the support of friends and family, I managed to pull off 56 half marathons and 16 full marathons. As my love for running continued to develop, my goals of running changed. I wanted something more than just a finisher’s medal. I claim to earn the Abbott World Major SIX STAR MEDAL. To set my hands on such, one must run NYC, Chicago, Tokyo, Berlin, London and Boston’s Marathon!!!
In 2016, I ran Tokyo Marathon. I then ran Chicago in 2017, New York City in 2017, and Berlin in 2018.
As I continue my run journey, I have decided to run London Marathon in April. I chose to fundraise for OAR in efforts to raise awareness and funds for those with autism. This will be my fifth World Major Marathon on my quest to complete all six. This race is especially dear to me as it is my comeback marathon. I have NOT run a marathon since 2019 in South Africa. I am excited and looking forward to making an impact on children, adults and families affected by ASD. Please support my efforts by donating to this worthy cause.
The more we understand about the cause and expression of autism, the more we will be able to support children with autism, along with their families.
Let’s make a difference.
Please help me support Organization for Autism Research by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance Organization for Autism Research's great cause!
WHY RUN FOR AUTISM? 1 in 36 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. By joining the RUN FOR AUTISM team, you’re supporting OAR’s mission to fund research and resources that help people with autism and their families today.
Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:
$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers. $25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders. $100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school. $150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation. $1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism. $3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college. $30,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.
