Please help me support by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance Organization for Autism Research's great cause!

WHY RUN FOR AUTISM?
1 in 36 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. By joining the RUN FOR AUTISM team, you’re supporting OAR’s mission to fund research and resources that help people with autism and their families today.

Here are some of the ways that OAR uses the funds raised by the RUN FOR AUTISM team:

$10 provides a Curriculum in a Box professional development set to general education teachers.
$25 provides 15 copies of A Guide to Safety to families and first responders.
$100 provides the Kit for Kids peer education resource to an entire elementary or middle school.
$150 provides 100 copies of a Life Journey through Autism guidebook sent to a community support group or military installation.
$1,000 provides a research grant for a graduate student studying autism.
$3,000 provides a scholarship for a student with autism to attend college.
$50,000 fully underwrites an applied research pilot study.

Time to officially kick off this campaign! For those who don't know this about me, running wasn't something I thought I'd ever get in to. I never understood why/how people would sign up for these crazy distances and then even worse, pay to put themselves through the pain! Even during my time in the service, I told myself it was just a "necessary evil". Fast forward about 13 years and you see my getting sucked into running the Ukrop's 10k here in Richmond by my close friend Brandon (thank you!). Well 5 races and 1,250 miles later, I can say I certainly haven't looked back! For me, and I'm sure for most runners, running is freedom. It's been a way to clear my mind after hard days, a momentary pause from the chaos and just overall a way celebrate life. To make things even better, I've been so fortunate to have such an amazing wife, family, and group of friends supporting me the entire way! Now as I look at the 2024 race schedule, I can't think of a better way of celebrating life and overall wellness than by joining the RUN FOR AUTISM team in the 2024 Chicago Marathon in October. Help me in supporting this awesome cause!
